How we calculate

The TCO calculator compares two real cost blocks: everything the classic fuel card costs on top of the pure fuel price, versus the flat-rate price of DKV InstantFuel. The fuel price itself is left out — it is identical in both models.

Classic fuel card — three cost blocks

Card base fee per card per month. DKV currently charges €3.90 net for the Card Climate; other providers between €1.90 and €6.00.
Transaction fee as a percentage of revenue. Typically 0.5% to 1.2% with branded-station providers — the exact rate is in your master agreement.
Labour cost for receipt processing: expense review, manual DATEV prep, corrections. Studies (Heilbronn University, 2024) estimate 6–12 min per receipt.
