Fuel Cost Calculator for Fleets

What does fuel cost your fleet per year? Breakdown by diesel, gasoline, HVO and electricity — with cost per vehicle, per kilometre, plus a sensitivity analysis for ±10 ct/L price swings.

Capture your fleet

Default: mid-market fleet with 6 diesel, 2 gasoline, 2 EVs. Price defaults match ADAC fuel monitor May 2026.

Diesel vehicles
Gasoline vehicles
HVO-100 vehicles
Electric vehicles (BEV)

Note: All calculations run locally in your browser. Fuel price defaults match ADAC May 2026 (diesel €1.75/L, gasoline E10 €1.85/L). HVO 100 typically 5–10% above diesel; public AC charging €0.42/kWh.

Sensitivity analysis

What if the fuel price rises or falls by 10 ct/L? (BEV: ±5 ct/kWh)

Fuel price +10 ct/L

Modelling only. Real fuel cost depends on driving style, when you refuel, regional price levels, and consumption variance.

How we calculate

Fleet fuel cost is a simple multiplication — but the breakdown per fuel and per kilometre is what reveals the biggest lever: driving style (consumption), where you refuel (branded vs. discount stations), or fleet composition (switching to EV or HVO).

The formula per fuel

Vehicles × avg km/year × consumption / 100 × price = annual cost. Cost per km = annual cost / (vehicles × km). For EVs replace litres with kWh — otherwise identical.

Why a sensitivity analysis?

Fuel prices fluctuate seasonally by 10–15 ct/L; geopolitical shocks can move them 30 ct/L or more (see 2022). A sensitivity table instantly shows how hard a +10 ct jump would hit. For large fleets these are five-digit annual amounts — an argument for hedging or accelerated transition to less volatile energy.

Where DKV InstantFuel helps

DKV InstantFuel logs every fueling event with date, station, litres and price in the dashboard — you spot regional price trends, branded-station premiums and driver-specific consumption outliers in real time. Instead of sorting receipts monthly, you see the data live.

Sources and assumptions

  • Fuel price defaults: ADAC fuel price monitor, May 2026 (diesel €1.75/L, gasoline E10 €1.85/L).
  • HVO 100 default price: Crown Oil / NESTE Q1 2026 large-buyer pricing indication, roughly +10% over fossil diesel.
  • Charging price €0.42/kWh: BDEW electricity price analysis 2026, public AC chargers, weighted average.
